This week’s show had most of the qualities that one looks for in a wrestling show. The show had two outstanding matches, some developing rivalries, and best of all: it was only one quick hour long. No news for NXT Takeover: Chicago was released, but we did get new stars like Kona Reeves and Lacey Evans. Before we get into that though, this weeks show started off with the latest development in the feud between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.  
  Johnny Gargano’s entrance music played as the Full Sail crowd went nuts. It looked like Gargano had finally come back to NXT after being out of action by Ciampa, but instead, Tommaso came down to the ring. The cheering quickly erupted with boos as Ciampa slowly crept his way towards the ring.
  Ciampa acknowledged that Johnny won their first battle but everybody remember show wins the wars. He said that he broke Johnny’s heart, mind, body, and spirit. Candice LeRae then made her way to the ring. Candice was in the verge of tears as she said that she didn’t even know who Ciampa was anymore. Tommaso insulted Gargano for not facing him himself. LeRae slapped Ciampa in the face, causing him to slowly back out of the ring and wave goodbye to Candice

Lacey Evans vs. Brandi Lauren –

  Evans is slowly improving with each passing week on NXT. Lacey has been involved in a feud with Kairi Sane over the past few weeks. She made short work of a local talent named Brandi Lauren this week. 
  The former marine immediately started stomping out her competition. She gave her a bronco buster in the corner of the ring before launching launching a slingshot elbow drop on her.
  She hit a punch, which is now being called the “Women’s Right,” on Lauren to win the match. Evans celebrated her win before she headed up the ramp for the evening.

Winner: Lacey Evans
  Before Evans could leave, Kairi Sane suddenly emerged and attacked her fellow Mae Young Classic competitor. Sane threw her back in the ring and layer her out. She went up for the Insane Elbow, but Evans managed to roll back out of the ring and escaped to the back just before Sane went for the jump.
  A replay of last week’s confrontation between Ricochet and The Velveteen Dream was shown.

  Aleister Black was interviewed as he made his way to Full Sail University. He was asked about Ricochet and the Dream wanting a shot at his NXT Championship. Black said that he has learned that being NXT Champion means constantly having a target on your back. However, he said that anyone steps in the ring with him will instantly become the target.

  Dakota Kai was asked about her recent interactions with Nikki Cross. Before Kai could bore us by talking about her strength and conditioning goals in the Performance Center, Nikki suddenly took a microphone and asked Kai when she’ll finally face Shayna Baszler. Cross was seemingly able to convince Dakota Kai to face her fears.
Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream – 
  Well, it was certainly fun while it lasted. The fact that this match did not close out the show indicated that this match probably wasn’t going to go down so smoothly. Sure enough, shenanigans did come into play.
  The match started off with both men being noticeably evenly matched. They started off with some basic lockups, but don’t worry, it did not take long for Ricochet to do what he does best. Ricochet flipped and ducked all of the Dream’s offense, and after falling onto the apron, Ricochet dropkicked him right out of the ring.
  The next sequence of moves was truly breathtaking. Ricochet went for a dive outside of the ring onto the Velveteen Dream. Dream rolled back into the ring, but Ricochet noticed this just in time before making the dive. He lived up to his ring name by bouncing back into the center of the ring. The two young wrestlers then had a stare down as their match came to a stalemate. Both of them then traded strikes back and fourth before colliding their own heads together.
  Unfortunately, that was the end of this particular match as Lars Sullivan suddenly ran down to the ring and attacked them both to end the match. Sullivan savagely beat down both competitors before he gave the Freak Accident to each of them.
Winner: No Contest
Kona Reeves vs. Raul Mendoza – 
  This was Kona’s second match since returning to NXT with his new character. He was not welcomed very warmly by the crowd in Orlando. Reeves got right to work as he took on the much smaller Raul Mendoza.
  Mendoza tried to outrun and dodge Kona’s offense, which worked for a little while, but Reeves eventually caught him and started stomping his opponent hard. He dished out some stomps and punches in the corner before he gave Raul an vertical suplex. He tried to get Mendoza to tap out, but the Cruiserweight Classic contestant powers out of the move and gave Reeves a step-up enzuigiri.
  This finally gave Mendoza a brief chance to get some offense in on Kona Reeves. He gave him a kick and went for a springboard maneuver, but Reeves was able to counter it with a massive boot to the face. “The Finest” that NXT has to offer picked up the win after hitting the Hawaiian Drop.
Winner: Kona Reeves 
  Ricochet desperately tries to get into General Manager William Regal’s office. The Velveteen Dream showed up and asked him what he was doing. Ricochet said that he wanted to get a match against Lars Sullivan. Dream noted that he was there for the same reason. The two rivals put their differences aside as they went into Regal’s office. It was later confirmed that they will both face Lars next week in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
  Heavy Machinery’s Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight recorded a video backstage talking about how they celebrated Mother’s Day before they ran into TM61. The Australians previously cheated to win a tag team match by holding down each other’s feet to score a pinfall. Otis was upset to see them and he challenged them to a match for next weeks show. 
Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, Pete Dunne vs. The Undisputed Era –
  Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly all took part in this match as they face off against Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, and new NXT signee Danny Burch. It started off with Dunne and Strong staring each other down. It looked like fans would finally get to see these two go at it, but Strong tagged out of the match before Dunne could get his hands on his former tag team partner. Kyle O’Reilly tagged in instead, but that only encouraged Dunne to tag in Danny Burch. For the next little while, Burch and O’Reilly grappled before Kyle took over after a swift kick to the knee.
  Strong was tagged in next and he promptly started stomping on the left arm of Danny Burch. After managing to get some distance from the Undisputed Era, Dunne was tagged in and he finally attacked Roderick Strong. He laid into the man who turned on him at NXT Takeover: New Orleans with hard strikes. He proceeded to agonizingly bend Roddy’s fingers back. Cole and O’Reilly tried to interfere in the match, but Oney and Danny ran into the ring and stopped them both. The three of them proceeded to bend back the fingers of all of the Undisputed Era members at the same time. 
  Back into the action, O’Reilly got into the ring and went after Dunne. Strong decided to beat down the UK Champion some more with a few punches. He even nailed a backbreaker on “The Bruiserweight” for a two-count. Adam Cole was tagged in next and he started stomping on Dunne to save his partners. It was like a revolving door as Undisputed Era members tagged in and out while refusing to let Dunne escape their corner of the ring. Kyle worked Dunne’s arm before giving him a knee to the stomach. Strong set Dunne up in the corner, but this gave the latter enough time to get back into the match by pushing down Strong and tagging in Oney Lorcan.
  With a fresh amount of stamina, Oney charged into the ring and he chopped the chests of both Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly repeatedly. He followed that up by giving them both uppercuts, a suplex to Strong, and he concluded with a dive onto Kyle and Roddy outside of the ring. Burch got a two-count before he tagged Pete Dunne back into the match. Burch was attacked by Cole and O’Reilly, but that was still not enough to get the Undisputed Era the win.
  The match broke down and got completely out of control towards the end as each of these six men dove, punched, stomped, pounded, and destroyed each other in this hard-fought contest. After Burch was able to send Strong and Cole out of the ring once again, the European superstar was able to lock in a crossface on Kyle O’Reilly. Strong tried to rush back in, but Oney Lorcan caught him and hooked a single leg crab on him. Finally, Dunne was able to get Cole locked into his own submission move, but Strong was able to power out of the move and send Lorcan crashing into his teammates in order to breakup the submission attempts.
  More strikes and serious punches erupted between the teams. It looked like this match was destined to continue forever, but the fatal mistake came when Burch moved out of the way of a kick from Roderick Strong, causing him to accidentally hit his partner Kyle O’Reilly. After a wheelbarrow DDT from Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan on O’Reilly, the Undisputed Era finally met their makers.
Winners: Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan, & Pete Dunne
  A fantastic show from start to finish, especially with that main event. The NXT brand has got a lot of talented names working at the moment. It was a shame to see The Velveteen Dream and Ricochet’s match end the way that it did, but perhaps they will work even better together as a tag team when they face Lars Sullivan next week. It will be interesting to see what happens between now and NXT Takeover: Chicago, but with all of the talent that the brand has right now, the possibilities are almost limitless.
