205 Live opens up with a recap of Cedric Alexander’s successful title defense over Buddy Murphy from last week’s show. From there, Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson welcome us to Corpus Christi, Texas and Drake Maverick reminds us about the two matches he announced in advance.
Drew Gulak is on commentary for the first match of the night as he is selling his pamphlets on the issues he has with the Lucha House Party.
Lince Dorado (with Kalisto & Gran Metalik) vs. The Brian Kendrick (with Gentleman Jack Gallagher): Kendrick instantly attacks Dorado with knees and punches. Kendrick ends up out on the floor. Dorado with a dive off the apron, taking out Kendrick. Kendrick with a side suplex followed by a cover, but only gets a two count. Kendrick with forearms across Dorado’s face and continues to stomp away at a grounded Dorado. Kendrick with another suplex then goes for a cover, but only a two count. Dorado and Metalik are relentless with those noise makers. Gulak is getting really annoyed with them and keeps calling Metalik/Kalisto by the wrong name. Dorado with a hip attack, trying to get back into this match. Dorado heads to the top and hits a cross body then goes for a pin, but only a two count. Dorado hits a dropkick on Kendrick and sends him to the floor. Dorado with a suicide dive, taking out Kendrick. Kendrick throws Dorado into Metalik and both get back in the ring. Dorado with a handspring cutter for the victory. Winner: Lince Dorado
After the match, Gulak kicks Kalisto and attacks Dorado in the ring. He finally gets chased off by Metalik and Kalisto.
We look back at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match that happened last Tuesday night between Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy. Cedric Alexander would retain the title.
We head backstage where Mustafa Ali is being interviewed. Mustafa Ali says that last week’s match made him hungry to get back in the ring and show that he can hang with the best of the best. Mustafa Ali then says that Buddy Murphy might be strong, but does he have enough heart.
TJP vs. Brian Keith: Keith goes for a handshake and gets hit in the midsection. TJP leaves the ring and gets a mic. TJP says that he is sorry to do this in front of Brian Keith’s friends and family, but Keith is not making a name off TJP and proceeds to hit a float over senton on Keith. TJP then locks in a leg submission and continues to talk about how Drake Maverick doesn’t seem to appreciate his talent, but maybe Paige, Kurt Angle, or William Regal might appreciate his talent more. He continues that he might be available very soon and forces his opponent to tap out. Winner: TJP
We then get a video vignette for Lio Rush saying that he is planning the perfect attack and that he is the best cruiserweight in the world. He also says that he is a 23 year old piece of gold, a living legend and a phenomenon and that it is just a matter of time before 205 Live feels the Rush.
It is announced that next week on 205 Live it is going to be The Lucha House Party (Lince Dorado, Kalisto & Gran Metalik) vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher, The Brian Kendrick & Drew Gulak.
We head backstage where Dash Fuentes asks Buddy Murphy (who is with Tony Nese) if last week will hinder tonight’s match against Mustafa Ali. Tony Nese says that you would have to be an idiot to think that that is going to bother Murphy. Murphy then says that he is the juggernaut and you can’t stop the unstoppable.
Buddy Murphy vs. Mustafa Ali: Commentary is noting that this is the rubber match between Mustafa Ali and Buddy Murphy. Murphy uses his power early on as he tosses Ali around the ring. Ali with some chops to the chest of Murphy, but Murphy is just shrugging them off. Murphy tries for a suplex, but Ali lands on his feet. Ali hits a pop-up dropkick to Murphy that sends him to the floor. Ali looks to fly and hits a corkscrew crossbody on Murphy. Back in the ring, both end up on the top rope. Murphy gets Ali on his shoulders and ends up dropping Ali right on the top rope then goes for a cover, but only a two count. Ali gets thrown over the top rope and Murphy continues to focus on Ali’s midsection. Ali throws Murphy face first into the turnbuckle and hits a reverse hurricanrana. Murphy gets hung up between the ropes. Ali heads up top and lands a big splash then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Back and forth strikes in the middle of the ring. Murphy with a combo, but a spinning heel kick by Ali halts that. Ali looks for the rolling cutter. Murphy pops him up in the air and knees Ali in the face then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count.
Both end up on the apron. Murphy tries for a charging knee, misses and hits the ring post. Ali with an x-factor on the apron, goes for another pin, but only gets a two count. Ali can’t believe it as he continues to sell his midsection. Ali gets tossed into the turnbuckle, then gets his head tucked into the corner, then gets kick, then gets dropped. Murphy follows up with a pin, but only gets a two count. Crowd with an “This is awesome!” chant. On the floor, Ali gets popped up and lands on the second turnbuckle. Ali lands a sick tornado DDT that sends Murphy into the ring. Ali looks for the 054 and Hideo Itami just shows up out of nowhere and smacks Ali off the top rope. Itami then hits a running dropkick on Murphy in the corner. Itami then yells “Respect me!” after landing his finisher on Ali. Winner: No Contest
After the match, Hideo Itami stands tall as 205 Live goes off the air.
