— Early last week at the Rogers Centre in Toronto (formerly known as Skydome), some stadium employees claimed they saw a television in the concourse area with a logo for WrestleMania 2012 at Rogers Centre. With WrestleMania taking place next year in Phoenix, and at last word, 2011 in Indianapolis, 2012 would be the year to aim for if they are putting themselves in the running for the annual event. It should also be noted that it would be the ten-year anniversary of the last WrestleMania to take place in Toronto, which saw Hollywood Hogan go up against The Rock in a classic bout.
— At this past Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Edmonton (which is scheduled to air tonight), Big Show was originally to wrestle Cryme Tyme member Shad. However, plans were changed at the last minute and officials had him wrestle JTG instead.
— The July 31th edition of Friday Night Smackdown featuring Jeff Hardy defending the World Heavyweight Championship against John Morrison drew 651,000 Hispanic viewers for a 2.9 Hispanic rating. While the rating is barely half of what the show drew on a good night two years ago, it was the best Hispanic number in quite some time, behind only America’s Got Talent and Family Guy in the most watched English language television shows among Hispanics for the week on network television.
