“It’s a family-friendly event that KIDS and ADULTS can compete in, have fun and feel good about the fact that while they’re enjoying themselves and trying to eat as many wings as possible, they are also supporting grieving Long Island children . . . because ultimately it’s all about the kids,” Paul Rubin, founder of Camp Good Mourning!, told Patch in an email.
The Huntington-based organization hopes to draw residents from Huntington and neighboring communities, Rubin said. People don’t have to compete in the wing-eating challenge to take part in raffles, cheer on competitors or learn more about Camp Good Mourning! and its mission to help grieving children.

“It costs nothing to walk in the door!” Rubin said.
Two wing-eaters make up a team and pay $35 each to enter. Each contestant needs four pledges at a $25 minimum. Various trophies will be awarded. There will also be raffles.
