According to Dave Meltzer via Wrestling Observer Radio, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa is dealing with an undisclosed injury, stemming from last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live where he teamed with Johnny Gargano against The Bar.

Ciampa performed a Sunset Flip on Sheamus during the match that ended in Sheamus landing on his leg. The champ was seen clutching his shin after the match, but it’s also been specultated that he may be dealing with other nagging injuries as well. 

For what it’s worth, Ciampa did wrestle the following night at the WWE NXT television tapings, teaming up with Gargano for multiple tag team matches, so it doesn’t look like his injury is that serious. He did not work this past week’s RAW or Smackdown tapings.
