The drama between former best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks has been brewing since January, and it looks like we may finally be headed towards a big match between the two. Or maybe they’re besties again? It’s really hard to tell where this storyline stands from week to week, but what’s for certain is this Monday’s episode of WWE Raw pushed the two forward in a major way.

Over the last few weeks, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle ordered the two to attend a mandatory counseling session, which saw the return of the beloved Dr. Shelby character, who famously united Team Hell No back in the day. This week, when Bayley informed the Olympic Gold Medalist that therapy went poorly, Angle urged the two to get back on the same page, suggesting that he would trade one of them to Smackdown Live if they couldn’t work out their differences.

Later in the evening, Banks and Bayley were scheduled for tag team action as one last measure to try and make emends. Although they were unsuccessful in winning the bout, “The Boss” surprisingly came to the aid of her former bestie, saving her from a post-match beatdown. Backstage, Sasha broke down into an emotional rampage, admitting to Bayley that she “loved” her and all her various mannerisms, and alluded to being jealous that she had legions of fans that supported her, and seemingly always knew how to do the right thing.

So… There’s a few different ways this could go, and we’ll probably find out more next week to point us in the right direction. The first situation, and the most likely, is that this admission of love and regret is all a ploy; a trap from Sasha Banks that will lead to a match at SummerSlam. Or it’s possible that Bayley could shove those feelings back in her face, turning heel and setting up a match between the two at SummerSlam. And then, just because we’ve seen this before with Cesaro and Sheamus, Team Hell No and a few other similar situations, it’s also possible they make up, become an unbeatable duo, and they stretch out this ridiculous rivalry even further.
