BANNING, CA — There’s no time like the present to announce the 67th annual Stagecoach Days Rodeo in Banning. This week, the Stagecoach Days Association shared that the event would run over the weekend of Sept. 6 and 7, 2024, at the A.C. Dysart Equestrian Park, 2101 W. Victory Ave., in Banning.

Volunteers and supporters are always wanted at the upcoming planning event, which will be held on April 8.

“Join our next meeting, and see how you can help,” they posted over social media.

The Banning Stagecoach Days Rodeo, held annually since 1957, was jeopardized one year ago after vandals broke into their storage facility and ransacked the supplies necessary for holding the rodeo. After donations and efforts were put into play to help the organizers, the association was able to hold its event in 2023 as planned.

Festivities typically include a parade, live performances, a beer garden, and all things rodeo.

Though the Stagecoach Days Association is separate from the city, last year, Banning Mayor Alberto Sanchez commented on the city’s commitment to helping out as a community partner for 2023.

“The annual Stagecoach Days event has attracted thousands of visitors over the decades and continues to provide a fun-filled family experience for people of all ages,” he said. “The city is firmly committed as a community partner in ensuring this annual tradition remains strong.”

Amy Pippenger, the Chairwoman of the nonprofit Stagecoach Days Association, shared pictures and video of vandalism at their offices from the vandalism incident, which threatened to sideline the rodeo. The community immediately stepped up to offer support.

“The rodeo is packed with professional contestants, more than ever before,” Pippenger said. “The popularity of rodeo is growing like never before. Women’s breakaway and barrel racing is the number one fastest-growing sport in the U.S.”
