Shelton Benjamin was released from WWE back in 2010, and he only just recently made his return to the company. Several fans were pleased to see Benjamin return to the company on the Smackdown after this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, and he is currently working in a tag team with Chad Gable. He revealed in an interview on WWE.com that former ring announcer Lilian Garcia helped him return to the company after being gone for so long. He revealed that he met with Lilian during Wrestlemania 32 weekend, and she gave him the motivation to try to come back to WWE. He later met with VP of Talent Relations Mark Carrano, and he was asked about coming back to the company. Obviously, Benjamin accepted his offer.
Raw Superstar The Miz has been on fire as of late. He has been praised for his work as Intercontinental Champion, his promo work has been a consistent highlight each week, and he and his wife Maryse announced on Monday night that they will be having their first child soon. As if all of this was not enough, The Miz just surpassed one of the most legendary title reigns of all time. The Miz has surpassed The Honky Tonk Man as the third longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion. Honky Tonk Man held the title once for 454 days. On the other hand, The Miz has now held the title for 455 days over the course of seven different title reigns.

WWE has hired multiple athletes who have competed in the Olympic games before, such as Kurt Angle, Chad Gable, and Mark Henry, but another standout from the games seems to be ready to leave her mark in the company. 28-year-old Canadian freestyle wrestler Erica Wiebe has been training at the WWE Performance Center lately, and she was also in attendance for the Mae Young Classic finale. Squared Circle Sirens reports that the gold medalist has indeed tried out for WWE recently, but her current status with the company is unknown at the moment. Wiebe could very well be joining the company very soon.

It’s about to get serious. pic.twitter.com/7HmtBsdzyF
