LACEY, NJ — A special election is coming for Lacey residents in March 2025, where they will vote on three separate questions with various renovations and replacements proposed in the Lacey Township School District.
The district held its first public information session on the upcoming $92 million referendum this week, with more sessions to come. Among these upcoming sessions will be tours of the buildings. There will be meetings held at different times, too, such as during the day and on Saturdays, to give residents more opportunities to learn about what’s in store.
Three referendum questions will be on the ballot. The first question has to do with HVAC replacements at the middle school and high school, partial roof replacements at the high school and Forked River School, and roof replacements at Cedar Creek School, Lanoka Harbor School and Mill Pond School, for a total of $29.9 million.

The second question is for selected HVAC replacements at all district schools, for a total of $37.9 million.
Finally, the third question is for locker room renovations at the middle and high school, parking lot and basketball court repaving at elementary schools, and other renovations. Also, a new synthetic turf field and lighting at the high school was added to this question. This totals $24.4 million.

Since the questions are separate, they can be voted separately – so all could be approved, a combination of two could be approved, only one could be approved or all could be rejected.
You can see a PowerPoint presentation here, though the turf field was not added to it. Video has not been made available of the presentation or this week’s public information session.
