As we all know by now, Roman Reigns will be returning to Raw later tonight to make an announcement regarding SummerSlam next month. Fans have been speculating all week on what this big announcement could possibly be. Some have theorized that it could lead to the return of Braun Strowman, or it could set up a match with John Cena at the biggest show of the summer. “The Big Dog” will be making his announcement on Raw tonight. Well, Roman is definitely rumored to be calling out a member of the WWE roster, but just maybe not the wrestler that you may be thinking of.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns is likely going to be calling out The Undertaker to have a match at SummerSlam in Brooklyn. The Undertaker was believed to be retired after losing to Reigns at Wrestlemania this year, however, WWE has been featuring Undertaker in some advertisements recently, and they’ve also begun Roman as the man who perhaps sent “The Phenom” in retirement. The Observer notes that the rematch is not confirmed, and it may just be done as a way to make fans think that rematch is coming. It is possible that they could go in a completely different direction as well if they choose to do so.
When The Undertaker was defeated at Wrestlemania this year, he left his coat, gloves, and hat in the ring as he vanished into the night. Most fans took this as a sign of retirement, and have praised how the departure of the character was handled. Whether Undertaker is indeed coming back to wrestle again remains to be seen, but we should have our answer later tonight when Reigns makes him announcement on Monday Night Raw. It is possible that The Undertaker may not be finished with his wrestling career after all, but perhaps someone could interrupt Reigns’ request, thus leading to the real SummerSlam feud. Hopefully, we’ll have our answer soon.
