WORTH, IL — Rodeo Burgers and Chicken is bringing heat to the local restaurant scene when it opens grandly this Saturday, June 21. Located at 11111 S. Harlem Ave., Worth, Rodeo will throw open its doors with a ribbon cutting at noon.
Owners Khalid Ganem, and his wife, Saja, are putting their own spin on the smash burger, which has soared in popularity in recent years. The concept is to take a ball of meat then flatten it immediately with a spatula or weight as soon as it hits the grill or flat top. Smash fans claim that the thin, juicy, crispy burger tastes better than thicker cut burgers because the thinner size allows more surface area to come into contact with the hot cooking surface.
“We make everything fresh using 100 percent Angus beef, including the spices for different flavors,” Ganem said. “This is a fresh meatball patty that will absorb all the spices.”
