Rhea Ripley is the new WWE SmackDown Women's Champion.

Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair on night one of WrestleMania 39 on Saturday at SoFi Stadium to win the title and become the fifth Women's Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.

Ripley won the title with a Riptide off the second rope to pin Flair and win the SmackDown Women's title for the first time and to complete her career Grand Slam.

Earlier in the contest, Flair connected with a moonsault off the post to the floor, then used a spear for a near fall. Flair also used a figure-four leglock, but Ripley forced a rope break, which led to the closing sequence of the match where Ripley blocked a fallaway slam off the ropes and connected with the second-rope Riptide.

Previously, Ripley held the the NXT Women's Championship, the Raw Women's Championship, and the Women's Tag Team Championship, each on one occasion. Ripley is also a former NXT UK Women's Champion, but WWE does not currently recognize that title for Grand Slam purposes.

Flair, Sasha Banks, Asuka, and Bayley are the other women who have completed the career Grand Slam in WWE.

Flair's seventh SmackDown Women's title reign ends at 92 days.

Ripley earned the SmackDown Women's title match at WrestleMania by winning the 2023 Royal Rumble match on January 28 of this year. Ripley declared that she would challenge Flair for the title on the January 30 episode of Raw.
