India and China are home to about 2.7 billion people which accounts for one-third of the population on earth and most of them regularly breathe polluted air. According to a recent study, a whopping annual 15 million years of life in China and 11 million years of India in India could be saved by just eliminating harmful emission from the power plants operational in both countries.
Air pollution is one of the largest contributors to death in both countries, ranked 4th in China and 5th in India, and harmful emissions from coal-fired power plants are a major contributing factor.
