LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2017 NFCA Division II All-Region teams. This year’s squads are comprised of 210 student-athletes from 116 programs.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s eight regions with first and second team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA Division II All-American squads.

2017 DII All-Region Teams

No. 11 Colorado Mesa, out of the South Central Region, led the way with six accolades, three on the first team. It was followed by region counterpart No. 4 West Texas A&M, along with South region representatives No. 10 West Florida and Valdosta State with five honorees each. The Lady Buffs and Blazers matched the Mavericks with three first teamers.

No. 3 University of North Georgia (Southeast) and No. 9 University of Southern Indiana (Midwest) joined the previously-mention programs with three first-team representatives.  The Nighthawks led their region with four overall.

Three other programs also picked up four all-region nods-  Truman State (Midwest), No. 16 Central Oklahoma (Central) and No. 6 Minnesota State (Central). Leading their respective regions with three selection are No. 18 West Chester (Atlantic), No. 14 Caldwell (East), No. 5 Cal State Monterey Bay (West), No. 19 California Baptist (West) and Western Washington (West).

The 2017 NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 24 at the NCAA Division II National Championship Banquet in Salem, Va.
