GAMBRILLS, MD — Construction is well underway on a new grocery store in Gambrills.
The exterior of The Fresh Market looks nearly complete in the Crofton Station shopping center. The facade redesign is done, and the store’s sign is now mounted.
The company previously told the Baltimore Business Journal it plans to open by the end of 2024. Construction has been ongoing since at least September 2023.

The new Fresh Market will be located at 1161 Maryland Route 3 North. It will fill the vacancy left by Giant Food, which moved across the street in January 2023.
Crofton Station has undergone some changes since Giant relocated.
The former Giant space has since been split into two storefronts. The Fresh Market will fill one side, and a Michaels craft store will eventually occupy the other.
Always Ice Cream is also opening soon in the former Philly Pretzel Factory a few units away.
None of the three new tenants have announced exact opening dates.
Other new businesses that opened since Giant left include Chase Bank, Nekter Juice Bar, Taichi Bubble Tea and Sugaring NYC.
