There is no denying that both Hardy Boyz have had a ton of success in the wrestling business. Matt and Jeff Hardy went from being two fans wrestling in their backyard in North Carolina to becoming two of the biggest names in the industry. Jeff Hardy is a former world champion in WWE and in Impact Wrestling, while Matt Hardy won the world title in Impact along with several other championships during his long career. Unfortunately, Matt Hardy is in the middle of a career crossroads at the moment as nagging injuries are currently keeping him away from the ring in WWE, and he is even said to be contemplating retiring from active competition soon and possibly staying with WWE as a backstage producer.
During a recent Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Hardy took the time to talk a bit about his career and provide small updates on his future in wrestling. Hardy answered questions as himself and was asked about possibly continuing his career in Impact Wrestling or Ring of Honor in the near future. Although Hardy notes that he could always change his mind, he said that he will likely be finishing his career in WWE. Hardy said that he would be open to the idea of leaving if he could appear for all major promotions occasionally, much like Chris Jericho currently does. Despite this, Matt Hardy says that he will retire in WWE in “a perfect scenario,” and Matt’s wife Reby recently stated that his current WWE deal expire in March of 2019.
Plenty of memorable moments took place during the All In event earlier this month, but perhaps one of the most touching moments of the show came when Cody Rhodes defeated Nick Aldis to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. It was definitely a very meaningful moment for Rhodes since he captured the championship that has become synonymous with his father, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. Now that Rhodes has won the prestigious title, he seems intent on taking the title with him everywhere he goes and defending it against any and all challengers. Cody just revealed that his first appearance as NWA champ will be for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood this Sunday night.
Thanks folks!
Also wanted to share I’ve agreed to my first @nwa booking THIS SUNDAY at @CWFHollywood pic.twitter.com/ELy4T2qm4C
