QUEENS, NY — A man accused of shooting a rookie NYPD officer was found and taken into custody, officials said Friday.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service found Devin Spraggins in a Bronx home at about 8 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. Law enforcement also found a gun in his home, but officials say they don’t know whether Spraggins used it to shoot Officer Brett Boller.

Boller, 22, of Hauppauge, was shot in the hip Wednesday when he was responding to an altercation on a bus, authorities said. A search ensued for the suspect, later identified as Spraggins, 22.

After fleeing the scene, Spraggins got into a Black Nissan Altima — a Lyft for-hire vehicle — that took him to a 215th Street house, authorities said. Officers say they discovered the social media accounts for people staying at the home and obtained a search warrant.
Spraggins faces several charges, including attempted murder of a police officer in the first-degree, criminal possession of a weapon, and governmental obstruction.

Boller underwent surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Officials expect him to remain in the hospital until next week but anticipate he will make a full recovery.
