Impact Wrestling has barely ever been mentioned on WWE television despite being around for several years. A ton of stars from Impact Wrestling have moved over to WWE, and Bobby Lashley just returned to WWE for the first time in 10 years on Raw this past Monday night. When Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens showed up to Raw hoping to get hired, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle jokingly suggested that they could get jobs in “TNA” (Impact’s former name), breaking the tradition of WWE never mentioning their rival promotion. A number of tweets indirectly responding to WWE’s jab from Monday night have been posted on the official Impact Wrestling Twitter account.

Jinder Mahal shocked the wrestling world almost one year ago when he faced off against Randy Orton at Backlash and managed to defeat “The Viper” to win the WWE Championship for the first time in his career. Mahal went on to defeat Orton at a few more shows, which is interesting given that Orton and Mahal will face off at Backlash once more this year, but with Jinder’s United States Championship now on the line. Orton defeated Bobby Roode and Rusev in a Triple Threat match on Smackdown last night to earn himself the title shot. The Backlash pay-per-view will once again feature talent from both Raw and Smackdown, and it will be taking place on May 6th.

Prior to Asuka going up against Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, “The Empress of Tomorrow” had been making quite a number of appearances on Smackdown. Given that Asuka is a Raw Superstar, this could indicate that she may be moving over to the brand permanently very soon. Sure enough, PWInsider has just reported what may be perhaps the first official roster move scheduled to take place during the Superstar Shakeup tomorrow. A few advertisements for an upcoming Smackdown live event in Tupelo, Mississippi features an appearance from the formerly undefeated WWE Superstar in the advertising for the show on June 13th.
