Swedish value fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz has announced its
shortlist of 24 aspiring designers for its fourth annual H&M Design
Award.
The 24 semifinalists were selected from 37 fashion schools from around
world and are: Clara Jungman Malmquist, Laure Severac, Magdalena
Brozda, Sarah Effenberger, Simone Schmidt Adrian, Elina Määttänen,
Juyan Zhou, Francesca Reberschegg, Hiroshi Shintani, In Seo, Yumiko
Sei, Youn-Chan Chung, Yiyu Chen, Andreas Ekelöf, Leonard Kocic,
Charlotte Knowles, Graham Fan, James Kelly, Janni Turtiainen,
Katherine Roberts-Wood, Fiona O’Neil, Andrea Jiapei Li, Peter Do and
Ximon Lee.
From list of semifinalist designers, only 8 will be selected to pass
through to the next round and present their collection to a
international jury panel, lead by Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative head
of design for H&M, in London next month.
The final winner will receive a cash prize of 50,000 euros, a
mentorship as well as a collaboration with the Swedish value retailer
and host a catwalk show during Stockholm Fashion Week. This year’s
winner of the H&M Design Award was Eddy Anemian, a fashion graduate
from Brussel whose collection went on sale in selected H&M stores
across the world last week.
