Dalton Castle is one of the biggest stars that Ring of Honor has right now. The character he portrays is that of a androgynous man with flamboyant tendencies. Dalton Castle joined Ring of Honor in 2013, and his gimmick has been widely praised by fans of the show. He often is accompanied by two men who he calls his “boys”, and they act as human furniture. The character is a massive success over in Ring of Honor, in fact, Castle has recently started competing for the ROH world title on some shows. There is one big reason behind this though: it appears that Dalton Castle could be leaving the promotion in a matter of weeks.
The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that Castle’s contract is coming to an end at the end of June. Not only that, but there is apparently interest from WWE in possibly bringing Castle on to one of their programs. This would be a massive loss for Ring of Honor seeing as how Castle is one of the biggest successes in the entire promotion at the moment. If WWE is interested in Dalton, then ROH is going to have to prove just how much they value him if they want him to stick around. As of right now, Castle is still employed by ROH and will be until at least the end of this month.
WWE’s gain is Ring of Honor’s loss, but it certainly wouldn’t be the first big loss for the promotion. Just this year Nigel McGuinness, Steve Corino, the Hardys, supposedly Adam Cole, and even more people than that have jumped shipped from ROH to WWE. It may get to a point now where ROH will do anything to keep a star like Dalton Castle around, but it is interesting to hear that he hasn’t apparently signed anything as of yet. We shall see what the future has in store for Dalton Castle, hopefully we’ll have some updates on his status with ROH soon.
