CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Charges against skateboarder, television personality, and Chester County native Bam Margera were withdrawn on Wednesday in what lawyers declared an important victory.

Margera has faced a string of brushes with law enforcement in recent years, and most recently faced charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct following his arrest at the Radnor Hotel in Aug. 2023.

“Justice prevailed today when charges were withdrawn against Mr. Margera,” Michael T.
van der Veen and William J. Brennan, Margera’s lawyers, said in a statement. “It’s fulfilling to be able to help him get his life back on track.”

The attorneys did not further elaborate on the circumstances of Margera’s arrest.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 in the parking lot of the hotel. Radnor Police said they saw “a man and a woman fighting.” Margera was intoxicated and slurring his speech, police said.

Margera is still awaiting trial on charges relating to the assault of his brother, Jesse, in early 2023. In July, he was ordered to stay in the Philadelphia region until the case was resolved and to report to Recovery Centers of America in Devon, and to cooperate with random drug and alcohol screenings. He was freed on $50,000 bail.

Margera, who grew up in West Chester, has a house in Pocopson Township.
