OAK BROOK, IL — Carvana has opened a car vending machine in Oak Brook. The eight-story glass structure at 20 Enterprise Drive dispenses cars to customers who make their purchase online. The Oak Brook facility, which opened last week, is Carvana’s first car vending machine in Illinois and 17th location in the U.S.
The building has a customer waiting area where visitors can stand inside the glass tower and watch as their vehicle descends from the tower to ground level, according to a news release. Company officials promise the process takes just minutes compared to the hours you could spend at a dealership, according to WBBM.
All orders are made online and customers get a custom coin, which they drop into the car vending machine’s coin slot. With the customer looking on, the car vending machine then retrieves the vehicle from the tower and brings it directly to a delivery bay, according to a news release. Once in the bay, the customer can take their new car.
Customers then have seven days to drive the car around town before ultimately deciding if the vehicle is right for them, according to Carvana officials.
