MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The plaque installed at Bruce’s Beach Park that details the site’s storied history was stolen Monday night, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The police department immediately opened an investigation to identify, locate and apprehend those responsible for taking the plaque.
“Installed in February last year, the stolen plaque held significant historical and cultural value,” City officials said.

The plaque condemns the past actions of government officials and white residents who the city said, “intimidated, harassed, and demonstrated discrimination against Black homeowners and visitors.”
