He might not have been that effective during the playoffs, but he was named MVP eleven times altogether this season which helped him get the recognition he deserves. Ventzislav Simeonov remained second in the overall season MVP evaluation, perhaps due to the silver medal he won with VfB Friedrichshafen, but the Bulgarian-born Italian topped the highest scorer and the best server individual rankings.
