North Idaho freshman Kennedy Anderson andDouglas sophomore Keeley Ainge were named the NWAC Softball Players of the Week for contests played April 17-23. Additionally Ainge was selected the Softball Under Armour Player of the Week.

Ainge, a native of Lander, B.C., turned in another strong performance this week as she tallied a 3-0 record, including impressive wins over No. 3 Edmonds and seventh-ranked Bellevue. In 23 innings, she surrendered six runs, while striking out 20 and posting an ERA of 1.83 for the week. Ainge is currently 1st in the NWAC in ERA (1.89), 4th in wins (10) and 10th in strikeouts with 62.

Anderson, who hails from San Dimas, Calif., nearly filled the stat sheet for the Cardinals as NIC went 4-1 on the week. In 21 at bats, Anderson collected 11 hits including three doubles, four home runs, with six runs score and 15 RBI. Anderson is currently leading the NWAC in RBI (57), is third in batting average (.540), tied for fifth in home runs (10) and is sixth in doubles with 12.
