The forbidden door has been opened once again as AEW roster member Leyla Hirsch defeated The Bunny on Dynamite to earn a title shot against NWA Women’s Champion Kamille.

Shortly after Dynamite, the NWA announced on Twitter that the bout is scheduled to take place at the NWA all-women’s Empower pay-per-view on Saturday, August 28th. The winner will then defend the title the next night at the NWA 73rd Anniversary pay-per-view.

This will be Hirsch’s first appearance for the NWA. She is riding a three-match win streak and has won 14 out of her last 15 in AEW. 

Kamille has held the title since June when she defeated another AEW roster member, Serena Deeb, for the belt at When Our Shadows Fall. This will be the third defense of her title.

The two women had a standoff after the eliminator match as the 5’10” champion towered over the 4’11” Hirsch which was played up on commentary. This was also Kamille’s first appearance on Dynamite which has seen several NWA Women’s title matches since the two groups started working together.
