This week’s edition of NXT emanated from Bel Air, Maryland and kicked off with a wild women’s match. Io Shirai and Candice LeRae faced off against The Four Horsewomen’s Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke!

IO SHIRAI AND CANDICE LERAE VS. JESSAMYN DUKE AND MARINA SHAFIR

This match was high octane from the beginning, with LeRae taking the fight o Shafir and Duke. NXT Women’s champion Shayna Baszler stood on the ramp and watched the action unfold as her teammates took over. But when Shirai tagged in went for Duke’s arm, Baszler interfered in the match. Io attacked Shayna, leading to a brawl between all five women on the floor. This brought on the end of the match.

A video package from the North American title match between Velveteen Dream and Tyler Breeze was shown next, followed by a backstage promo from Dream. The upcoming match between Kushida and Drew Gulak was previewed next.

A vignette featuring Damian Priest, formerly known as Punishment Martinez, was then seen. Priest will debut on the June 19 edition of NXT.

KUSHIDA VS. DREW GULAK, SUBMISSION MATCH

This match began with a feeling out process between both men. Kushida and Gulak mat wrestled, with each one trying to take the advantage. Kushida was the man on top in the beginning, though that did change as Gulak took control of the match.

The bout remained grounded for the bulk of the time, with very few exceptions. Kushida fired up with a flurry of offense, leading to the end of the bout. He trapped Gulak in the Hoverboard-Lock, forcing Drew to tap out.

The two men shook hands after the match, as the fans applauded their effort.

An interview featuring Vannesa Borne and Aaliyah from outside of WWE’s Performance Center was shown. The two women insulted Mia Yim, referring to her as “trash.”

The next video flashback featured the end of Super ShowDown‘s battle royal, which was won by NXT Superstar Mansoor. That was followed by a quick video of Adam Cole’s NXT Championship win versus Johnny Gargano from TakeOver XXV.

KYLE O’REILLY AND RODERICK STRONG VS. ONEY LORCAN AND DANNY BURCH

This one was a hard-hitting match, as both teams brought the intensity and the physicality. Strong and O’Reilly looked as fluid as ever, delivering stiff shots and double-team moves on their opponents. But Lorcan and Burch would not be denied, as the duo fought back against The Undisputed Era.

The match began to wind down and lead to the end, when The Forgotten Sons’ Jaxson Ryker suddenly interfered, allowing Lorcan and Burch o get the surprise pin.
