The following are results from the WWE live event in Hidalgo, Texas. The event was held on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
Thanks to rajah.com reader Chris Mercado for sending this in:
Brodus Clay and Tensai defeated Hunico and Camacho after about 15 minutes.
Big Show came out ready to wrestle, then John Laurinitus came out as he was
in charge and told Big Show he would not wrestle, but would instead sit
ringside to Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan and not interfere.
Dean Ambrose defeated Fandango and Bo Dallas in a US title match. Bo Dallas
and Dean Ambrose matched up well. Match went 14 minutes.
Hidalgo fans voted 54% to see Brie Bella and Alicia Fox in a dance off.
Brie Bella danced terribly and attacked Alicia Fox before she could begin.
This would turn into a match which Alicia Fox won after 11 minutes.
After intermission, The Miz would come out with his left shoulder noticeably
bandaged, selling the injury from Randy Orton’s attack on Monday Night.
He went on to announce for “one night only we would see the Awesome Truth”
team once again.
R Truth came out as they awaited the shield.
Just like Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came out through the crowd
(right by me!) to a huge pop.
Just as Awesome Truth looked like they had the victory, Dean Ambrose ran out
to ending the match.
Awesome Truth wins via DQ, The Shield keep the tag titles.
Great Khali defeated 2MB (Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, no Heath Slater.)
Match went about 10 minutes.
Justin Gabriel def. Antonio Cesaro. Before the match, Cesaro told the crowd
of Hidalgo when he looked at everyone, all he saw were a bunch of illegal
immigrants. Of course, he had much heat during his match.
Daniel Bryan def. Randy Orton. Best match of the night, crowd was very in to
it. Randy Orton received louder pops from the crowd, until after the match
when The Shield ran down to attack Bryan. Big Show jumped in the ring, and
Awesome Truth ran down. Big Show KOed Roman Reigns then picked him up to
allow Daniel Bryan to hit him with the running knee. Show, Truth, and Miz
left. Daniel Bryan hung around then left with very loud “YES!” Chants.
-Brodus Clay & Tensai def. Hunico & Camacho. Tons Of Funk picked up the win via pinfall after Tensai landed a second-rope splash on Hunico for the 1-2-3.
-Big Show’s music plays and out comes the big man. Before he can say or do anything, the old familiar music of John Laurinaitis plays. Laurinaitis comes out and informs Big Show that he will not have a match tonight. Instead, Big Show will sit ringside during the Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton main event later tonight.
-Dean Ambrose def. Bo Dallas & Fandano in a Triple-Threat match. Ambrose mocked a lot of Fandango’s dance moves throughout the match. The finish came when Dallas executed a springboard bulldog on Fandango. Before he can do anything, however, Ambrose quickly rolls him up from behind for the pinfall victory.
-Alicia Fox def. Brie Bella. This started off as a Dance Competition, as voted on by the fans. Brie does some moves, but before Alicia can finish her dance, Brie attacks her. Thiis leads to a match, which Fox ends up winning via rollup for the 1-2-3.
-The Miz & R-Truth def. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns via DQ. The Miz, all bandaged up to sell the attack from Randy Orton on RAW, cut a promo before the match announcing he would be teaming with his old partner tonight, R-Truth. The two would go on to win the match against The Shield members via DQ when Ambrose interfered.
–Intermission–
-The Great Khali def. 3MB in a Handicap Match. Heath Slater was not in the match, so it was a 2-on-1 handicap match. Khali picked up the win via pinfall after hitting Jinder Mahal with the Punjabi Plunge.
-Justin Gabriel def. Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro cut a promo before the match calling everyone in Hidalgo a bunch of “illegal immigrants.” Cesaro did the spin spot, which lasted a good 30-40 seconds. In the end, Gabriel managed to secure the pinfall after hitting Cesaro with his 450 splash off the top.
-Daniel Bryan def. Randy Orton. John Laurinaitis came back out before the match to force Big Show to sit at ringside and watch. Big Show is told if he interferes, he will not be paid. Both Bryan and Orton got big reactions coming out. The finish here came when Bryan countered an Orton RKO attempt and blasted him with his running knee for the 1-2-3. After the match, The Shield comes out and attacks Bryan. The Miz and R-Truth come back out to help, but they end up getting beat down as well. Eventually, Big Show came in the ring and cleaned house. Big Show, R-Truth, Miz and Daniel Bryan all celebrated to end the show.
