There has been talk of forming a new stable on the SmackDown Live brand that would be comprised of talent who have an accomplished collegiate wrestling background.

According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the group would be similar to the old Varsity Club group in the old NWA/WCW, which featured Kevin Sullivan, Rick Steiner and Mike Rotunda in their “Letterman Jackets” from their college wrestling days.

Names discussed as being part of the potential modern day version of the group include Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable.
