Ratings for last night’s episode of SmackDown on the USA Network were down two percent from last week’s post-No Mercy show, coming in at 2.405 million viewers.

The show was sixth for the night on cable behind the game three of the NLCS (6.494 million), The O’Reilly Factor (3.393 million), The Kelly File (2.764 million), game four of the ALCS (2.738 million), and Hannity (2.631 million). SmackDown finished second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.81 rating, trailing only the NLCS game, which did a 1.89.

The big audience for the MLB playoff game between the LA Dodgers and Chicago Cubs was likely the biggest reason for the drop, as the first two hours of that game went up directly against SmackDown.

The show did do better than most weeks have been doing since the fall TV season started, trailing only the two post-PPV shows. It did fail to retain the usual 80-85% of the previous night’s Raw rating, but that was to be expected given that Raw featured the return of Goldberg, which led to a huge ratings increase.

Here’s the ratings history of both Raw and SmackDown since the brand split:
