MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead sophomore Blake Bosch will compete at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships starting on Friday in St. Louis, Mo.
Bosch, who will compete at 133 pounds, will face San Francisco State sophomore Jordan Gurrola in the opening round on Friday.
A native of Wishek, N.D., Bosch had another outstanding season on the mat for the Dragons, posting a team-best 25-9 mark. Over the past two seasons Bosch has a record of 47-23, which is the best of any Dragon.
This season Bosch has been strong in the latter half of the season. After losing a match against LIU-Post in New York City in December, Bosch was at 10-5 on the season. Since that loss, Bosch is an impressive 15-3, including a 4-1 mark at the Super Regional 3 tournament.
Gurrola is 29-10 on the season and is 45-18 over the past two seasons. This is his first trip to the national meet. He lost to Daniel DeShazer of Nebraska-Kearney in the West Super Regional finals by a 3-2 score. Gurrola was ranked sixth in the nation in the final Division II national rankings.
The top eight finishers in each weight class earn All-American honors.
