IOWA CITY — Making the jump from high school to NCAA Division I wrestling can be like traversing the Grand Canyon for many wrestlers.
For Fredy Stroker, it has been smooth sailing thus far.
That’s because the former three-time state champion for Bettendorf High School wrestled against the best the nation has to offer on a regular basis during his high school days.
Stroker, who had a 196-4 record at Bettendorf, was a five-time Prep All-American, a gold medalist at the 2012 Pan-American freestyle championships, a junior freestyle national champion and spent this past summer at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
