According to a recent report in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, New Monday Night RAW Superstar AJ Styles’ hip injury ended up being diagnosed as a sprained si joint that led to a pinched nerve, causing him significant pain. The injury was obviously not that serious as he was already back in action – albeit competing less intensely – only several nights after it occurred.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program that WWE is now in the situation of having to deal with all of the weekend house shows in The California area, including Oakland, Stockton & San Jose as well as The NXT TakeOver: San Jose Event expected to take place on June 8th at The SJSU Center.
With The NXT TakeOver: San Jose Event set for the day after The WWE Saudi Arabia PPV on June 7th, it is possible that WWE could keep it on the calendar as it would be somewhat of a traditional major WWE PPV weekend, with the one-two punch of WWE & NXT on consecutive nights. Obviously, the only difference would be that The WWE PPV would be airing the night before The NXT PPV, which is the opposite of how things are usually lined up. More information will be provided on this once it is made available.
