SANTA MONICA, CA — The Ferris wheel on Santa Monica Pier will “Shamrock and Roll” on St. Patrick’s Day weekend when it’s lit up with a 90-foot-tall shamrock.
The Pacific Park Ferris wheel will feature a custom lighting program with green colors, pattens and transitions, including the shamrock, nightly from March 15-17, according to the park.
The wheel is lit up from sunset (about 7 p.m.) to midnight.

The Ferris wheel, known as the Pacific Wheel, features 174,000 LED lights, which are mounted on the wheel’s 40 spokes, two hubs and other parts of the structure.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17.
