BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A driver was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash that caused Route 22 East to close for two hours on Wednesday.
On Jan. 18 at around 11:28 a.m., Bridgewater Police Officers went to Route 22 East in the area of North Gaston Avenue for a report of an overturned motor vehicle.
Officers found an overturned 2007 Ford E-350 box truck operated by Oneilo Monterroso-Rodriguez, 41, of Green Brook, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Frederick J. Brittain III.

The investigation found that Monterroso-Rodriguez was driving in the right lane of Route 22 East when he crossed over the white fog line and hit a parked 2003 Ford F-350, which was unloading vehicles, said Brittain III.
The Ford F-350 was being operated by Victor Semler-Espada, 48, of Springwood Meadow Lane, VA.

Monterroso-Rodriguez was trapped in his box truck and rescued by officers on the scene.
Monterroso-Rodriguez was arrested for DWI taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and issued the following summons for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
Semler-Espada was issued a summons for parking in a no parking zone (State Highway).
