The WWE Women's Championship will be on the line on the July 14 SmackDown episode. 

As announced during this week's show, Asuka will defend the WWE Women's title against Bianca Belair on next week's SmackDown. The match stems from an angle this week where Belair attacked Asuka in the ring in a wild brawl segment that also featured Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and women's Money in the Bank contract holder IYO SKY. 

After Belair attacked Asuka, Bayley and SKY continued the attack, but were interrupted by Flair. Belair attacked Bayley, leaving Flair, SKY, and Asuka in the ring. Flair then laid out SKY with a big boot, allowing the Women's Champion to escape before SKY had the opportunity to cash in her contract. 

Belair defeated Asuka at WrestleMania in a match for what was then known as the Raw Women's Championship. Belair was drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft, then Asuka defeated Belair in a rematch at Night of Champions. The Raw Women's Championship was then rebranded as the WWE Women's Championship after becoming exclusive to SmackDown.
