The last time Edge wrestled in Toronto, he defeated Damian Priest to close out the August 22, 2022 edition of Raw. After the show went off the air, Edge teased that his final match could take place when WWE returns to the city in the summer of 2023.

"I'm looking at the calendar, and we usually come here in August. So next August, I plan on seeing each and every one of you. And in a perfect world, we all say goodbye to each other that night," Edge said.

Edge hasn't wrestled since the 5/12 edition of SmackDown when AJ Styles won a triple threat against him and Rey Mysterio as part of the tournament to crown a World Heavyweight Champion.

Some of Edge's top career highlights have taken place in Toronto. He successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against our own Lance Storm on the  September 3, 2001 Raw, defeated Booker T at WrestleMania X8, and successfully defended the IC title against Batista and Chris Jericho at SummerSlam 2004. At Unforgiven 2006, Edge headlined the show against John Cena in a TLC match and he also wrestled his longtime friend and partner Christian on the May 17, 2010 edition of Raw.
