ALSIP, ILLINOIS – A Joliet man was ambushed and gunned down late Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a kids’ indoor playground. The man died of gunshot wounds at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
The Joliet man, identified as Trevale Robinson, 24, by the Cook County Medical Examiner, was approached by a group of men in the parking lot who opened fire on him, Alsip police said.
Just before 5:30 p.m., Alsip police responded to a call of gunfire reported at My Kidzplay, 4847 W. 111th St., Alsip. When officers arrived, they encountered a man, later identified as Robinson, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses told police that the shooters fled eastbound on 111th Street in a silver BMW and a Jeep Compass. Alsip police believe the shooting to be a targeted attack, and there is no public safety risk. . No other injuries were reported at the venue.

“There was a lot of blood,” a witness at the scene told Patch.
