Blading is not allowed in WWE at all. In fact, if blood is seen then a match is stalled or even called off. This is obviously not the case in AEW.
After AEW Double Or Nothing was said and done, Dustin Rhodes credited his massive bleeding to Brandi Rhodes hitting him in the head with Cody’s cane.
However, as he revealed to Talk Is Jericho he did indeed blade himself, but Dustin did not realize how good of a job he had done until it was too late.
“I know a lot of people were worried. I was worried and you see it streaming out and you’re like, ‘Oh no I went a little bit too deep.’ Then ten minutes go by and you’re like ‘Now I’m starting to worry a little bit and the whole ring is just red I can’t see it’s all in my eyes.”
“I’m trying to wipe it out, but it just keeps shooting out to my heartbeat. It gets scary, but then after 15 minutes I’m like, ‘I’m gonna be okay, it’s gonna be fine.’ It’s just that you saw the fans faces on the front row and they’re just horrified, but into it and they can’t take their eyes off it and it was incredible man. I’m just so happy I’m so glad to be a part of that and I hope I did Cody proud.”
