There’ll be no accusations of preferential treatment by the SANZAAR judiciary after Nic Stirzaker avoided suspension after a red card against the Sharks.
Stirzaker’s red came after two yellows for deliberate knockdowns, a situation identical to that of All Blacks star Beauden Barrett a fortnight ago, and the Rebels skipper received the same process.
Red cards are automatically referred to the SANZAAR judiciary and that committee on Sunday night confirmed no further sanction was required for Stirzaker.
The Rebels stole a draw with the Sharks and face the Kings next weekend in Port Elizabeth before returning to Australia.
